Happy 42 Year Anniversary! We went out to a seafood restaurant by the beach here in Tela yesterday for our celebration. We didn't do anything more than that out of the ordinary. A great dinner by the Caribbean sea is pretty great I would say. That is not something we do every day. Unless you count eating at our house which is pretty close to the beach, sort of, probably a 1/4 mile or less. I got an app on my phone the other day with a compass and altimeter. Directly North from our house which we already knew, and where we live we are 36 feet above sea level. I am surprised it is that much, it doesn't seem like we go downhill to the beach or uphill back to our house. Oh well that is a fun fact about where we are in Tela, Honduras. This was the view from our table.
We went to the Tela Aquarium for P day on Monday as a district. It was fun, it is a small aquarium with a big whale skeleton outside and several small water tanks inside with different fish. It doesn't cost anything and they use it as propaganda to not pollute the beach and that is needed here very much. Apparently there is a large coral reef north of here that is dying off so that is part of their message too.
These are our two very hardworking Elders here. I like to see them out walking these dirt roads in the hot sun. They are so very dedicated and really do a great job at teaching others about Christ and His Gospel. The Hermana's do as well, I just can't seem to catch them in a opportune time to get a picture of them. They really are great. They are doing a Branch Family Home Evening tonight at the church at 5. The theme is "The Restauration". It should be good, I hope a few people will come out. They aren't used to coming out to any activities here so it will be interesting to see who shows up. The one they had a couple of weeks ago about family history was not too well attended but well prepared. I don't know if covid made a difference or not but it doesn't seem like people like to get out and do things together very much any more.
We had the opportunity this week to listen to the BYU Easter Conference. It was so good, I would encourage anyone to listen / watch. We just googled it and it is only an hour and a half long. I love listening to sister Gaye Strathearn, she is one of the three presenters and I really loved her message. I am glad we have the opportunity to be here in Honduras at this time in our lives and help with the Lord's work here. Hermana Morales said that after our visit last week with Hermana Franko that she felt so happy that we would come out to her house and sit with her for a few minutes. She is the one that has such a poor neighborhood, but such a sweet spirit. So even if it is just being here with these sweet people to help them in their difficulties we are happy to be able to do that. God lives and this is His work.

What a wonderful way to celebrate your anniversary!
