I would like to make this post about Whatsapp.  That is an app that anyone can download on their mobile phone for free and this app allows users to call, text, or video chat for free with any user in any country.  It is super convenient for communication with family and friends who are currently in another country.  It is totally free and works well on wifi or cell data.  We have used it extensively since arriving here in Honduras.  It is what we use between all the missionaries here in the mission.  It is also what the locals use to communicate with each other and us.  Whatsapp also works great with communicating with family and friends back home in the USA.  We have also used it for texts and calls and video calls with Elder Dr. and Hermana Chappell who are in Peru.  We have been able to video call our children and grandchildren and several of our family members back home in Utah, California, and Washington.  In reality it is the only option other that email that we have to communicate with others.  Our old phones and associated numbers do not work here.  Merrill's phone has been disconnected from service and Colleens phone has been added to her sisters family plan.  So her number is still in service but for some reason we still cannot send out or receive texts.  Once in a while she will connect it to the wifi and some texts will show up but it does not allow us to text out.

If you would like to download the whatsapp on your phone from the appstore or google play you can then create your own account totally free using your mobile phone number.  Then can contact us using the following numbers,  Colleen's number is 504-9560-8597,   Merrill's number is. 504-9446-2475

 Sunday January 29, 2023 We have had some wonderful experiences this past week.  I will try and capture what it has been like for us.  Monday morning we packed our bags and drove out to a rather distant part of our mission.  Our mission President and Hermana as well as the 3 assistants to the President were in their car and we traveled together, somewhat.  Driving / road trips, are an experience here.  Roads are very narrow at times, semi two lanes at times, have many potholes, many speed bumps inside towns, are not marked with lines in the center or on the edge,  people drive on the sidewalks at times to get around traffic, it is just crazy.  I don't mind driving during the day but nighttime driving is one thing I really do not like. Thank goodness it is not often when we had to be out after dark.  Sunday December 10, 2023 Genesis Tatiana Martinez Juarez was Baptized this week on Wednesday.  She is another grandchild of Doris Funez,  she is slowly getting more of her grandchildren baptized.  This picture shows more of her family, David was not able to be there for his sisters baptism, which I felt bad that he wasn't there but he had something going on, and for some reason the family support here is not what it is back home.  Oh well.   Tatiana's mom has never attended church yet but I feel like one day she will.  The son between David and Tatiana, which is Aaron, will be baptized this week on Wednesday, so that makes all three of her children baptized which hopefully will be even more reason for her to participate.  Tatiana was so happy today at church,  She was confirmed in sacrament meeting today and then participated later in a presentation for the Central America area plan.   President Garcia is on the Left.  oo...

  Sunday June 30, 2024 What a great week this past week has been.  There was a "Mission Week" initiative here in the Central America Area where missionaries and all members were invited to do certain things each day.  Then yesterday, on Saturday the Hermanas, had a double baptism, Grandma Marina, and her granddaughter, Allison.  The Elders baptized them then President Mendoza and I did the confirmations.   On Monday it was to hold a family home evening and invite friends and neighbors, Tuesday was to give someone a Book of Mormon, and every day was something simple and easy that we all can do to share the gospel with others.  We had a great week with the Elders and Hermana's de Tela and Telamar.  We started out the week with a family home evening at Doris's house with all her grandkids, it was so awesome to be there all together with them, I'll add some pictures.  It was nighttime by the time we took the pictures so they are not great but it ...
