It has been a wonderful day. We are still staying with our mission president and wife so we are like luggage they have to carry around with them. They are so awesome to us in every way. We went to Stake Conference today with them where they both knew they were speaking. After arriving at the church and meeting people, the Stake President asked us if we would share our testimony, 😟 so on our first Sunday here Hermana Chappell shared her testimony in Stake Conference with me translating for her, then I did the same. The people here are so friendly and warm and forgiving. They all said we did great. I don't really know if they understand my spanish or if they just smile and nod. The conference was really good, and there were alot of people there. They went all the way to the back and even had chairs set up on the stage at the very back where people were sitting too. The entire Zone of missionaries were there as well so we got to meet them which was so awesome. 4 Hermanas and 14 Elders, They are all so nice and friendly. They are from all over, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Colombia, Costa Rica and USA.
We then got back in the car and drove over to another Church building where they were having a baptism. There was a Lady and her two sons, and then another man whose family had been baptized two weeks ago. It was a really good service. The ward members were so supportive and participated in the service. It really was an example of how it should be done. I was very impressed. They have an average of 80 baptisms per month here in this mission. That seems like alot to me. They really are a very friendly people, what little contact I have had with them. They say we will be moving out to a city called "Tela" within a week or two. It is a coastal city north of here where they have a lot of members but very few of them are active so it is a small group that attends church. We will do what we can to help there.
This is from the baptism that we attended today. Elder Smith taking the picture is from Centerville UT.The weather is beautiful, the people are wonderful, life is good!
This picture is by the Temple they are building here in San Pedro Sula. It was supposed to have been finished last August but now they are saying next January. It is just a concrete shell on the outside so who knows how much longer it will be. It is really close to where our mission president lives. There will be patron housing there as well as a distribution store in the same complex. It is nice to think that they will soon have a temple here so close for them.
