Sunday, the first day of the new year, a new beginning, in a great big way this year!  Tomorrow morning we are to be at the Provo UT MTC between 10:20 and 10:30 am.  We are beginning our mission to the Honduras San Pedro Sula East mission, which is to be for 18 months.  We are scheduled to be in Provo for one week then in Salt Lake for one week then we travel to San Pedro Sula on Friday, and Saturday, arriving there around 12:30 pm on Saturday.  We were set apart this evening by our Stake President, President Kolling.  Todd and his family were here and Meggan, because of covid was not able to travel here to be with us but thanks to FaceTime was able to participate that way.  It was a great experience and Colleen and I were each given a beautiful blessing that I know will help and sustain us while serving the Lord in this new capacity.  I am so thankful that they could participate in this special event with us.  It is going to be an awesome experience to be at the MTC for this week.  I am so looking forward to this weeks training/experience.

We are renting our house here in Provo while we are gone, so yesterday some amazing family, and friends helped us load everything up in a U-Haul truck which we then took up to Heber City where we are storing everything in Colleen's parents basement while we are gone.  Everything went so smoothly, it was raining the whole day but everything turned out great.  It continued raining till late afternoon here when it turned to snow.  Church was canceled in Heber City today because of all the snow they received there yesterday afternoon and during the night.  I am so glad, we are so blessed that everything worked out so well yesterday.  Todd and his family will be here tomorrow morning to see us off, then they will travel the first half of their journey back home tomorrow.

I am so grateful for this experience to serve the Lord as a missionary again.  I really enjoyed my first mission experience  years ago in the Spain Madrid mission.  I am so very excited to have my Eternal companion by my side as we become Elder and Hermana Chappell for the next while.  We will try and keep adding our experiences here as the weeks go by.
